Life can get rough and unbearable at some points for some people, and the last thing you want is to see is your friend or loved one in pain. In this piece, I am sharing helpful tips on ways to cheer someone up for under £5.
1. Send a Framed Photo, Illustration or Quote

Do you have an image or photo that you feel a loved one would appreciate?
It could be a photo of the two of you having a great time together, or of their favourite flower perhaps.
You could also design a quote that you know they live by, or that would help them in some way.
Prints are an affordable gift that you can send any time you like, and you can simply print them on a home printer for next to nothing.
A framed photo or quote can be touching, especially when your friend or loved one is feeling low.
These beautiful illustrations were designed using sunflowers, unicorn clipart, hearts and fall clipart – all from Design Bundles. They have the most amazing array of SVGs for all craft and design projects!
I even designed my Real Parent logo using graphics from Design Bundles + Canva.
2. Print And Decorate Personal Letters And Cards

I love sending personal notes and cards in the post to my loved ones.
There’s something lovely about receiving things in the post these days, especially if it’s handwritten.
I like to design cards for all occasions, and they are easier than you may believe.
I use my two favourite resources (Canva and Design Bundles) to create designs, and print them using my home printer.
This is a super cheap way to send out cards, and lots cheaper than using card delivery services.
Above are three designs I made earlier as an example of how to take a love svg and heart svg from Design Bundles, then use Canva to design something lovely!
3. Cheer Someone Up With Homemade Bread, Buns, Cookies and other Sweet Treats

There are many ways you can cheer someone up when they are down.
One good way is to bake them something special to show them you care.
Homemade sweet treats are simple, but they speak a thousand words, especially when you are not around to comfort them.
You can access a gazzilion free recipes online depending on what ingredients you’ve got.
Ingredients for cakes and biscuits are cheap; for instance, look for a guide to make kaiser buns, chocolate buns, cookies or even a simple cake in a nice box decorated with fondant flowers.
