Today I am reviewing some absolutely beautiful children’s books about climate change and the planet.
Sent to my sprogs by Little Tiger, I have chosen to review these books because their message is incredibly important.
So I am here to help spread the word if you’ve come here looking for books about the planet!
I admit, I am not the best at reading books to my children, because I have a very short attention span.
I am an audiobook lover though.
However, as weird as this sounds, I absolutely love books for their illustrations, the cover art and the messages they spread.
The books I have reviewed here are no exception; you’ve got to check them out if you are eco-conscious and are keen to educate your children to be the same. Also, you can educate your kids about some nonprofit organizations that are helping and fighting against climate change, just click for more info.
Children’s Books About Climate Change And The Planet
Right, on to the first book…
Change Starts With Us By Sophie Beer
Part of one of my favourite ranges of books for children, Change Starts With Us spreads the message that no matter how small, we can help to make a change.
It’s a beautifully illustrated book. With short sentences to inspire children (and adults) to make small changes like picking up litter, or looking after nature.
You can get this book here for just £6.99. Plus you can get the entire collection that covers subjects such as love and kindness.
Turtle Rescue By Jonny Marx And Xuan Le
The Turtle Rescue book is just the most beautiful book ever.
Not only does it have a really good storyline, it has a message about the destruction we are causing our oceans and how it affects sea life.
It’s the most perfect book for older children and those who love looking at detailed pages. Complete with flaps and cut out bits.
You could read this book over and over again and still find something new to discuss.
You can find Turtle Rescue here for £12.99.
Climate Action By Georgina Stevens And Katie Rewse, A Children’s Book About Climate Change And The Planet
This is a great older children’s book about climate change and the planet.
It’s detailed about the ways in which we are hurting our planet and the ways we can help reverse it.
There are facts that I was shocked to read! So this is a great book for education about climate change for all ages.
This book is absolutely packed full of information and would be a great reference book for homework projects that involve climate change.
Beautifully illustrated, this book talks about the young change-makers and is incredibly inspiring.
You can buy the Climate Action book for £19.99 here.
Like The Ocean We Rise By Nicola Edwards And Sarah Wilkins
This beautifully illustrated book about standing up and taking action for the environment is a wonderful book for children who are curious to know about climate change and the ways they can help.
It builds up children who want to do something to help the planet, but who maybe don’t feel like their changes will make enough of a difference alone.
I was reading the book the other day to my daughter (4) and I had to keep stopping as it was maing me emotional.
You can check out this book for yourself here. It’s on sale for just £7.99.
I am always keen to spread the word about books that inspire people of all ages to be more eco-conscious.
I will be adding books as I find them, so do check back again soon.
