Owning a dog is a big deal, and they become part of the family very quickly – we love them to the moon and back. Finding great gifts for dog lovers has been on my agenda lately, so I thought I would share some of my faves.
Why Are Humans Such Dog Lovers?

Since welcoming Blue into our home 18 months ago, I have learned that dogs are very loyal, and they love you no matter what.
Blue hovers around my feet and sits behind me on my chair when I’m trying to work, hence she has earned the nickname of Bluetack.
Dogs are stress relievers, and they have a calming influence. It’s well known fact that stroking a pet is good for your mental health!
I love to have a little cuddle with Blue of an evening, even though her snoring is unbearable sometimes!
My Top 3 Gifts For Dog Lovers
Without further ado, here are my top 3 gifts for dog lovers.
I have included a super cheap (but brilliant) option, and two other ideas to suit different budgets.
1. Animal Illustrations By Vector Pets

I’ve been a fan of cartoons and illustrations for years (just look at my blog logo above), so I was thrilled to come across Vector Pets who create animal illustrations.
My dog, Blue, has been the subject of an illustration by Vector Pets, and I think the result is awesome…
The best bit?
The pet portraits cost less than a tenner, and are delivered in just a few days!
I have started to use the Vector Pets artists regularly to create illustrations of my friend’s pets, and then I’m going to use them to create gifts such as printed mugs.
It’s a lovely, personal way of giving gifts for dog lovers… and other beloved pets of course.
2. Pet Portraits By Drawings By Lucy
Blue, who we share custody of (with my mum), is an interesting looking Frug (Pug / Frenchie cross) with one blue eye as you can see above.
Her first christmas with us was a good opportunity to have a scout around to find someone local who does pet portraits.
I just so happened to stumble upon Lucy’s card in Hobbycraft, and I contacted her to create a beautiful pencil drawing of Blue for my mum for Christmas.
Lucy’s drawings are incredibly life-like, and the style is timeless.
For an orginal piece of artwork, Lucy’s fees are a snip. Check her services out on Facebook above.
3. Subscription Boxes For Dog Lovers

Subscription boxes are gifts that keep on giving, and perfect gifts for dog lovers!
You can arrange treats, toys, and other doggy bits to suit all budgets, delivered again and again.
There are some amazing Dog Subscription Boxes over on Etsy, including a brilliant bandana subscription box.
The handmade bandanas are reversible, and seasonal. I mean, of course they are; who doesn’t love to dress up their pets?!
The bandanas come in two different styles, so you can choose whether you tie the bandana around your dog’s neck or fix it to their collar.
I fancy getting a monthly treats box for Blue, I think she would love that as she loves eating everything she can get her paws on!

i love my dogs just because they are so lovable back. the pet portrait and pet illustration sounds really like a great idea. i tried to get a pet painting (paint by numbers) but sadly the canvas arrived bruised in transit. how did these two arrive in good condition?
I LOVE your idea to get a pet illustration done and then put on a mug. That’s brilliant and I know what I’m doing for half my Christmas presents now! Great post.
